All guests have full use of the spacious villa, the meditation and yoga areas, TV lounge, gardens and verandas. Writers will also have a comfortable chair and desk at which to write. There are some beautiful walks locally by the river and the house is 3km from Kandy city centre. A bus takes 10 mins and costs about US.10c You can walk to the Tooth Temple in about 35 minutes. There are well stocked supermarkets close by- 10 minutes walk. The house is very quiet with next to no traffic noise, just jungle noises and chanting sometimes wafting across the mountains. Our neighbours are all educated Sri Lankan people. It's a very safe area for foreigners.

Breakfast is self service at a time to suit the guest- all ingredients provided in the two kitchens. Lunch and dinner can also be provided for an additional charge. The house is vegetarian. We have a housekeeper who comes to help us once a week with cleaning of all public areas and guest rooms by request. Laundry services are available twice weekly for an additional charge.

There are never more than 4 women staying at any one time. At present the retreat is women only as Jo is the sole leaseholder.

Airport US$65 and train station pick-ups US$10 can be organised easily. Jo knows reliable drivers who speak good English. Tours can also be organised with them directly. Contact Jo about this
